The importance of shapes in drawing lies with how good our brains are at immediately identifying them.
This brings us to the main way that we will be working with shape - through SILHOUETTE.
A Silhouette is the OUTSIDE edge (or OUTLINE) of an object. Check out the silhouettes below, and pay attention to how easy it is to identify them without seeing anything besides their outlines.
